Hannah Rudd in Perennial - Still from film by Christopher Thomas
Perennial
Perennial marks the debut of People On The Move, a new collective of movement and theatre artists founded by former Ballet Black Principal Jacob Wye, in collaboration with acclaimed dance artist Hannah Rudd and actor Daniel Crossley.
A poignant and visually striking piece, Perennial interweaves dance and spoken word to explore the emotional and physical dynamics between three characters. It examines the fragile tipping points in human relationships, where intimacy is indulged, strained, and ultimately reshaped. Perennial invites audiences to question assumptions and moral boundaries, asking: what is justifiable when love is expected to last?
“Clearly one to watch, Wye captures the moods of the trio perfectly in choreography that is both powerful and elegant. Rudd in particular was sublime. Her dance so smooth, so graceful, so controlled, so full of feeling that I could have watched it for the rest of the evening.”
